Telescopo does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. We have built our application with privacy by design, meaning:

  • No personal data is collected
  • No usage analytics are gathered
  • No telemetry data is sent
  • No tracking of any kind occurs

How Your Data is Processed

All document processing happens locally on your device. When you open a document with Telescopo:

  • Files remain entirely on your Mac
  • No data is uploaded to our servers
  • No cloud processing occurs
  • Document contents are never transmitted

File Access

Telescopo requires file system access to open and display your documents. This access is:

  • Controlled by macOS sandboxing
  • Limited to files you explicitly open
  • Never used to scan or index your files
  • Revocable through System Preferences

Recent Files

For convenience, Telescopo maintains a list of recently opened files. This list:

  • Is stored locally using secure bookmark references
  • Contains no file content or metadata
  • Can be cleared at any time
  • Is never transmitted off your device

Third-Party Services & PlantUML

Telescopo is designed to process documents locally. The only exception is PlantUML support. To render these diagrams, the specific code block is sent to the official PlantUML rendering server at https://www.plantuml.com/plantuml/svg/.

  • Opt-In Only: This never happens automatically. You must explicitly click to render and confirm the transmission for each session.
  • External Policy: Data sent to this service is subject to PlantUML's Privacy Policy.
  • Limited Scope: Only the specific PlantUML text code is sent. No other content from your document or computer is shared.
  • Ephemeral: The data is processed instantaneously to generate the image and is not stored, analyzed, or retained by Telescopo.

Setapp Users

If you access Telescopo through the Setapp subscription service, the application incorporates the Setapp Framework. Setapp collects basic usage data (such as app launches and duration) to calculate developer payouts. This data collection is required for the service to function and is governed by Setapp's Privacy Policy.
